For too long, the leading vending snacks have been bursting with sugar and loaded with fat. But, a new generation of snacks is starting to take prominence. Even finding their way into the premium eye-level slots in vending machines. And, in some cases, taking over an entire machine. These healthy vending snacks are altering people’s perceptions of vending machines altogether. Once a beacon for unhealthy convenience snacks, vending machines can now offer an easy way to buy healthy products on-the-go.
It is time to fall in love with healthy vending snacks. This is why:
For a while, the only healthy vending snacks available were cereal bars and low-fat crisps. Thankfully, this is no longer the case. The healthy snacks market has boomed and we are spoilt for choice. Crumbly flapjacks, moreish crisps, chewy protein bars and tasty fruit snacks are now fulfilling our snacking needs. As a vending company, the struggle to fill a row of healthy snacks is now a thing of the past. Instead, a whole machine can glisten with these new brightly coloured brands, oozing with health.
We cannot all enjoy the leading vending brands, but that just means we should switch up what’s in the machines. Newer brands tend to be more inventive, taking into consideration diet preferences and requirements. There are several reasons why a person may be restricted by what they can eat. For example, 1% of the UK population suffers from coeliac disease. This means they have to cut out gluten. A growing number of people also avoid gluten because they believe it is better for them to do so. In the UK, between 1 and 2 in every 10 people have lactose intolerance which means they have to avoid milk. There are healthy vending options for them too. We can now fill our machines with a huge variety of options which can be enjoyed by everyone. 32.5% of our Doozy healthy vending snacks are vegan-friendly and 51.2% are gluten-free.
For people who have restricted diets, eating on the go can be particularly difficult. Whereas at home food can be prepared, convenience food (such as snacks) can be a luxury find. With so many new products, this should no longer be an issue. However, many vending companies and shops will stock the leading brands due to the belief that they sell better. Fortunately, people are realising that not only are these newer snacks suitable for everyone, but they taste delicious too. In fact, in several cases, we have swapped traditional snacks for our Doozy healthy vending snacks and watched sales rise.
Standard vending products have little nutritional value, often described as having empty calories. The fact is, that we shouldn’t be filling up on them. The phrase empty calories implies that the food in question contains nothing of value to your body beyond calories that create excess pounds.
As the growth of healthier lifestyles has spiralled, so too has the demand for nutritionally rich snacks. The newer generation of snacks offers something very different to empty calories. They could be rich in fibre or packed with protein. Our need for nutritionally rich food is evident, we are not giving our bodies what they require. For instance, a disappointing 29% of adults were eating the recommended 5 portions of fruit and veg a day in 2017. But, evidence suggests that our consumer habits are starting to improve. For example, reportedly around half of all UK consumers are seeking to add extra protein to their diets. As our habits continue to become more healthy, this new generation of snacks will develop.
Why settle for empty calories when you can eat nutritionally rich snacks?!
Our habits are changing as we strive to eat healthier, alongside, snacks are changing too.
It’s time to fall in love with healthy vending snacks.
