The NHS introduced CQUIN guidelines in 2009 for a number of reasons which include to provide healthy food for NHS staff, visitors and patients. It can be a bit of a whirlwind looking at official documents, so we’ve broken it down below. You can see how our products fit in.

In relation to healthy food the guidelines propose:

  • A ban of price promotions on sugary drinks and foods high in fat, sugar or salt.
  • A ban on advertisements on NHS premises for sugary drinks and foods high in fat, sugar or salt.
  • A ban on sugary drinks and foods high in fat, sugar or salt from checkouts.
  • Ensuring that healthy options are available at any point including for those staff working night shifts.

At Doozy, we have never held promotions on, or advertsied sugary drinks or foods high in fat, sugar or salt. We also offer 80% healthy alternatives and our vending options are open around the clock.

In addition, CQUIN requires that:

  • Drinks – 80%  must be sugar free (less than 5 grams of sugar per 100ml).
  • Confectionary and Sweets – 80% do not exceed 250 kcal.

We handpick our Doozy product range carefully so that they fit within these requirements. You can have a peak at the types of products we choose Here.
